I would have initially said the location right on the beach, but it was truly the exceptional welcome and service by Ohm and his team. Food was terrific, rooftop deck was a delight, and Leila was the most precocious six year old to ever host us. Lots of great restaurants nearby and such attentive service.

I feel we became friends by the end of my week stay. Next, you basically have a private huge beach a short nice walk away which was a treasure. Then there is the delicious cooking. Each morning I got to try some very Kerela authentic breakfast items, which I greatly enjoyed. I specifically came to see the Thayyam ( Google it, they are super unique and cool to this region of Kerela) and Aparna - was able to arrange a great driver/guide to bring me to see them. You can also see black pepper, cinnamon, curry, tamarind, mangoes, pineapples and jack fruit all growing on the property! Ivory Coaste is the perfect place to relax and decompress. Especially if you’ve been traveling a long while like I had been doing. Also, there was a great mix of guests from around the world, so it was great exchanging stories with them. All in all, my time spent here was one of the highlights from my 2 months in India!

We had been traveling all day and after checking in late, he brought us up a bowl of fresh fruit because we didn't give a solid answer on if we had eaten or not. So sweet! 10/10 recommend doing the backwaters tour with him. It is such a special experience. His friend Valentine does a beautiful tour and dinner.

The staff was incredible, very welcoming, attentive, and always going the extra mile. Despite our late arrival, they waited up for us, ensured we got food before the kitchen closed, and made us feel at home immediately. Devon, one of the staff members, even gave me a ride to the pharmacy when my child developed a rash and went out of his way to bring back ice cream for her. Location is a 2-minute walk to a quiet beach. The rooms were clean, spacious, with comfy beds and hot water. The pool was a perfect spot to relax in the afternoons. The on-site restaurant offered delicious Indian and Western dishes, with the convenience of room service. Everything was smooth and stress-free, thanks to Nijad, who helped us plan all our activities seamlessly. The hospitality here is unmatched, and the value for money is excellent. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Varkala!
