This is a charming small guesthouse with just a few rooms. Communication with the hosts was quick and efficient and the welcome was extremely friendly. Our room with a great view of the little harbour and the island with the lighthouse was cosy, clean and comfortable. Breakfast (15 € per person) was plenty and tasty. The room rates aren't low but the accommodation offers good value for money. Stykkisholmur with its old traditional houses is a pretty small fishing town well worth a visit.

We loved this property downstairs felt like home with plenty of space. We were there with one other family and really enjoyed interacting with them. The view, kitchen and washing machines were excellent. Check in was efficient and communication with the hosts was easy.

Monica, the wonderful host, has truly thought of everything. Her experience in hospitality really shines through- from the spotless cleanliness and order to the little notes and labels that make everything feel easy and welcoming. The check-in was clear, simple, and completely stress-free, which set the tone for a relaxing stay. There’s a warm, authentic atmosphere here, yet it’s kept at the standard of a hotel. On top of that, the location is perfect. Stykkishólmur is such a beautiful little town, with colorful houses, a charming harbor, and a small hilltop offering a lovely viewpoint over the town. Located 6 km from Stykkishólmur, Helgafell provides a garden and free WiFi. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. Amazing cabin in beautiful location. There are only 3 cabins set up in this location next to a small lake in front, the place is very peaceful and serene. Our cabin has everything we needed to cook a delicious meal after our long day of exploring; the bed and sofa bed were comfortable. The home was tastefully decorated and the owner was very friendly . We loved everything about our stay here and would definitely return!

Set on a farm 8 km from Grundarfjördur, this modern guest house offers a 9-hole golf course, plus free Wi-Fi and parking. Snæfellsjökull National Park is 40 minutes’ drive away. Many thanks to the guesthouse host who noticed that my tire was running low on air. Not only did they kindly help me inflate it, but also recommended a nearby repair shop, saving me from what could have been a serious problem. The guesthouse itself was very comfortable, and I truly appreciate the host’s thoughtfulness!
