Taka and his wife are brilliant hosts. My family and friends have been coming here over the years and it was a highlight to stay here. The Onsens are fantastic after a day on the slopes, as well as relaxing in the cosy lounge room. Can't wait to be back!

The room was very clean, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious. The owner and his wife were very kind, and everything was perfect.

Close to the main road, amazingly friendly staffs, good size room with bath. Fridge, washing machine, ensuite bath, big kitchen space were available. We had 4 single beds in our room and was big enough for all 4 of us. The bed was comfortable too. The onsen in the shared area was also nice. You had to make reservations in advance to secure a 45min slot. One was only inside but the other had both inside and outside baths.

Hakuba Skala Inn has both Western rooms and Japanese rooms, which have traditional futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. All rooms are heated. If you want to experience Japanese homie style this place I would highly recommend. Osamu, Asako and his family run this place so well, great hospitality, warm and homie. From photo might look old, but it is better in reality it is well maintained. The building has some history and story to tell. My stay with them is short, but connected with the whole family instantly. It is emotional to say good bye, definitely come back!

Three of us stayed here for 5 days. We had the best time! The accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable with great facilities, including a storage area for all of our ski and snowboard gear. There’s also a bus station right down the street that takes you to Iwatake (which you can then transfer to another bus that takes you to every resort.) The best part were the owners — they were so kind and welcoming even though we did not speak Japanese. They cooked us breakfast and dinner and both were so delicious.
