Yoshi is the epitome of Japanese hospitality. Yoshi-sang is warm and welcoming from the beginning. We were greeted with some warm corn tea and Yoshi-sang enthusiastically introduced us to the nearby attractions/onsen and food options, with his self drawn map! We would love to have a bbq session at his very nicely decorated place if the weather is not cold. The onsen and food option Yoshi recommended is awesome. On the cold night, he also offered to prepare us some warm bottle to warm up the futons. Next morning, Yoshi also volunteered to defrost the windscreen as it was frosted overnight. He then made us nice dripped coffee and recommended us to take certain routes to visit daikanbo, the Aso crater and scenic route to Beppu. He even helped us to check the crater situation and weather forecast! Staying at Yoshi’s place and meeting him is definitely one of the highlight of our two weeks honeymoon trip. Thank you very much for the very wonderful stay!

Never had such a comfy bed and stay. We had trouble along the way to get there but they were extremely understanding and kind, seeing us off and even fulfilled a selfish request of mine.

We liked the whole experience, the staff was very friendly and detailed. We got an in depth tour of the facilities when we started. The complimentary breakfast was also great. We did get lost on our first night trying to get to the location but a kind local showed us the way.

This is hands down the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Genuinely, I would pick this hostel over a 5-star hotel any day. The room is large, comfy and well-equipped with a small table, tissues, travel guides etc. I LOVED the Kumamon dotted around the hotel, especially the Kumamon key chain and the Kumamon that will sit in the receptionist seat. Everything is so clean and tidy! The decorations of the hostel blew my mind, I genuinely had never seen such exquisite interior designs. The hostel even had a huge powder room, perfect for us ladies, and a huge common area with so much manga, a massage chair, games and even PCs! I would return to Kumamoto just to stay at this hostel again.
