It honestly felt like a home away from home, but with an unforgettable setting.

The access to the BBQs was the best part - we bought some Hida beef from the local butcher to cook on the outdoor BBQ and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. Would book this place again over a hotel any day

Guest House Zen è un alloggio ubicato sul lungomare di Yamanakako, a 18 km da Parco divertimenti Fuji-Q Highland e 21 km da Lago di Kawaguchi. Excellent facility, the set up is so relaxed, the owner is sooo cool. We fed the couple of swans and a few ducks that were out on the waterfront, the view is out of this world. We drove and the parking was easy to negotiate the location position it is not noisy and you can hear the water birds and other birds chirping. As the name says (ZEN) it truely is. Also the convenience store is only about 8 minutes walk away. Coming back from the store we visited a shrine that was having its annual summer festivities, kids were doing a Sumo fight next to the temple, the staff at the temple were inviting, also the men of the town were carrying a traditional Japanese float around the town then back to temple, up the stairs under Tori gate and to the front of the temple, ( the float is very heavy so is fun to see the guys struggling, but they get it up there. Its a once in a lifetime chance to see traditional Japanese culture.

They were lovely hosts. They helped with transportation from the bus stop and to the lakeside. Prepared nice vegetarian food. I enjoyed my time very much, and especially the visit up to the panoramic viewpoint before they dropped me at the station to return to tokyo.

Mr. Watanabe is an amazing host, he takes really good care of guests, gives very good advice about things to do, places to visit and restaurants to try around kawaguchiko lake. The room is very big, has got everything you need and a very nice view on mount Fuji. Also, the bath he prepares for the guests is the best thing ever after a long hike. Highly recommended!!

Perfetto il bagno caldo come chiusura di una giornata in bici. (Consiglio di prendere bici anche per la notte così da apprezzare il luogo anche la sera)
