The building is very nice. All the beautiful wood and features. Taking your shoes off at entree, sliding doors, gymnasium, kitchen. Amazing. Even more amazing was the staff. The explained every thing well, gave recommendations for food and travel. I even got lucky and hitched a ride back to Nakatsugawa, with a perfect pitstop at Hillbilly Coffee (highly recommend). I stayed here after walking Nakasendo Trail from Tsumago. Perfect place to stay after. Do not hesitate. Go here. Book!

The hosts were fluent in English, Chinese and Japanese, which made it possible for us to relax and feel our needs were understood. The place is beautifully outfitted, spotlessly clean, and very convenient.

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. All staff friendly and kindness☺️ Good location walk from Takayama station around 5-7 minute

I'm afraid my words will not be enough to express how much I loved my stay here. Kenさん and Yukiさん were extremely welcoming. I enjoyed my conversations with them, learning about Magome-juku, umeshu, and many other things despite my very lacking Japanese skills. When it was time for me to leave and embark on my hike to Tsumago-juku, they ran after me to give me a bottle of iced water to help me with the summer heat. I almost teared up from their kindness. I was on a solo trip for my birthday and they gave me the most memorable moment of my trip. Other things to note about this guesthouse: Room: I'm not sure about the other rooms but I secured the best one. It had an amazing view of Magome-juku. There is only a futon but it was very comfortable. The room is air-conditioned and although not sound-proof, Magome is quiet and you can hear the peaceful sounds of water flowing through the canals at night. Shared spaces: The shared spaces include the dining area, living area, toilets, showers, and an indoor bath. There is also a laundry area which you can use for a small fee (about 500 yen if I'm not mistaken). Reception is not 24/7 and the lights out is at 10pm I think. The shared spaces are not only clean, but they're also beautifully designed! Lots of dried flowers as decoration. Meals: You can opt to have dinner and breakfast here again for a small fee. Dinner is Indian curry and let me just say-- it was delicious! I had the spicy chicken keema, although personally I wish it was a bit spicier. The homemade yogurt was simply amazing. Breakfast is a simple spread of eggs, bread, yogurt, cereals, a variety of fruits, and drinks such as homemade juice and coffee from the coffee shop down the street. This was again very good and I enjoyed it more than I expected. I feel like Magome is a one-time destination because of its size, but I definitely want to come back and stay at sakanomichi again!

A very kind and hospitable host who left us many thoughtful gifts — coffee, candies, and even ice cream in the fridge! The room was cozy and comfortable, and we especially loved the couches. The bath was a real treat after a long day of walking. We only stayed one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer — it’s such a lovely place!

簡易宿所 ふくろく se nachází v destinaci Šingu a poskytuje ubytování s bezplatným Wi-Fi a neplaceným soukromým parkovištěm. Kamikura Shrine je 800 metrů daleko. The location is very near JR Shingu station with restaurants, konbini and a supermarket nearby. Host is very accommodating and very helpful with all my needs.

長徳寺宿坊 Temple Hotel se nachází v destinaci Šingu a poskytuje zahradu, bezplatné Wi-Fi ve všech prostorách a neplacené soukromé parkoviště pro hosty, kteří přijedou autem. It’s a self-contained 1-room apartment, complete with kitchen and shower-room. All modern. Beautiful clean tatami floor and comfortable futons. Amazingly, as an extra welcome, the kitchen is stocked with a selection of local drinks (including Wakayama-produced saké). The owner met us on arrival, explained everything clearly. All in all, if i come back to Shingu i will definitely want to stay here again.

GUESTHOUSE YANAGIYA se nachází ve čtvrti Magome v destinaci Nakatsugawa a nabízí pračku. K zajímavým místům v blízkém okolí patří Magome Wakihonjin Museum. Great location and very friendly owner.

AJITO Hostel & CafeBar se nachází v destinaci Šingu a nabízí ubytování s koly zdarma, neplaceným soukromým parkovištěm a barem. Pláž Ojigahama Beach je 2,9 km daleko. The room and facilities are clean. The location is very good. It’s near the bus stop and the convenience store. And if you wake up early like me and there’s no bus at that time, you still able walk to the Shingu station. The hostel has 4 bicycles to be borrowed with no charge. You can ride it around the city.

Great guesthouse and very friendly owner! There's a fully equipped kitchen to use freely so you can cook or have breakfast at the guesthouse^^ Very convenient location if you want to go to the beach, visit Meoto Iwa or Ise Jingu! I had the chance to meet several very friendly Japanese people here. They shared their food, snacks, and beers with me, so generous! We listened to music and we had a lot of laughs^^ After only spending 5 nights here, I already felt at home😊 If I ever travel to Japan again, I will definitely come back here!
