A tasty dinner was provided even though the restaurant was closed due to Poya Day. Advice about safaris, then safari was booked at short notice. A packed breakfast was provided for the early start. I was planning on taking a train onwards to Mannar, but he called and checked and found out it was cancelled, then helped me with bus arrangements, and flagging it down. This place was a great base for Wilpattu safaris, affordable, clean, and a friendly family. And a beautiful sunset!

He organized wonderful tours (safari, temples, dance show), and her wife prepared amazing breakfast and dinner! Everyday we had a different menu, always good and with Sri Lankan delicacies. The room was huge, spotless clean, with a very comfortable bed. The garden is beautiful, with palm trees and flowers, with a nice patio where we relaxed before dinner.. We had also a very nice walk close to the lake and ricefields, from the road in front of the hotel. We strongly recommend Swan lake to everyone wants to enjoy Habarana area

This was the best accommodation we had in Sri Lanka! Amazing location but more importantly, amazing service. Staying at Sweet Home Tourist Rest turned out to be one of the best decisions we made on our trip to Sri Lanka. It’s rare to find a place that offers both great value and a truly personal touch , but this one does exactly that. Instead of just a room, we had an entire private apartment, including a comfortable living room, which gave us so much space to relax. It was quiet, clean, and located in a peaceful part of town, making it easy to rest and recharge between our adventures. And considering the price, it felt like an absolute steal. What really made this stay unforgettable were the authentic experiences arranged by the hosts. Nilukshan helped us explore some of Sri Lanka’s most iconic sites with thoughtfully organized tours, the Wilpattu safari was stunning, and our visits to Anuradhapura and Mihintale gave us a deep appreciation for the country’s culture and history. Everything was well-timed, smooth, and stress-free. We also had the chance to join a Sri Lankan cooking class with Malsha, which ended up being one of our favorite memories. The class was fun, hands-on, and filled with flavor, we left not just with full stomachs, but with recipes and techniques we can take home with us. If you’re looking for more than just a place to sleep, if you want comfort, authenticity, and connection this is the place. Can’t recommend it highly enough!
