It is convenient and close to downtown and the markets, and it is quiet enough as the rooms have double pane glass and are in the back of the property. One of the biggest pluses is that they offer a FREE breakfast which is delicious and substantial. I don't know of any other property on Booking.com that gives a free breakfast. But the biggest reason to stay at Baan Jaru is it is a family-run business and the son, Toddy, studied in the UK for many years so he speaks fluent English, is very knowledgeable about the local areas and tourist spots in Chiang Rai, and knows what true guest services should be like. He is the main reason that they are so successful. Their prices are very reasonable and they don't change their room prices in the off or on-season because they have a high-quality product/service. I very highly recommend staying at the Baan Jaru if you visit Chiang Rai. I was 110% satisfied with my stay at Baan Jaru!

Location is just perfect! Approx 5-6 km away from downtown is exactly what one needs if one needs to enjoy the tranquility of solitude. If one complains about taking cabs for €3-4 then one shouldn’t be coming to Thailand or to this wonderful place.

After travelling from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai by motorbike, my initial plan was to just book for 2 days and from there to move on to the next place. Instead, I ended up staying for 2 weeks in this excellent hotel. Joy, the owner, is very friendly and if you show some interest in her, you would notice she really loves her city and knows great spots to have real local Thai food too. I stayed also in several rooms, number 1 and 2 downstairs with own parking lot, number 8 upstairs, which was a kingsize room, but more suitable for 2 persons. Since I was travelling alone, and wanted the most quiet room possible, so I could work, I stayed at number 4, behind the reception, the rest of my stay. Internet was excellent and fast, so great location if your relying on internet for work. Shower pressure was good, and location excellent: near the highway, 2km from town, with a motorbike it's just a 5-10 min drive. BIG C is jus 1 minute walk opposite of the hotel + also other stores in this shopping mall. 5 minutes walking distance is also a 24/7 selfservice laundry, and instead of drying my clothes in a dryer, I got permission to use the hotels drying rack. If you don't have self transportation, 2 scooters can be rented from the hotel. Payments can be done by card or cash. Lastly about the cleaning: it was excellent, and I want to thank especially Kisan, for executing a great cleaning job, by cleaning all the rooms by herself. Most of the time cleaners are getting unnoticed by many who book rooms, but without a great cleaner, a hotel is not worth staying for a long time .Keep up the good work Kisan, many hotels can take an example of the cleanliness this hotel has to offer! And Joy thank you also for being flexible with my erratic travel plans and irregular payments ^_^ See you when I see you guys!

Alex and his family welcomed us in their lovely guesthouse. The room is comfortable and spacious with indoor and outdoor seating in the garden, great ac and wifi. The beds are hard (true south east Asia style) but it's exactly how we like it, so perfect for us, and you are given two blankets to choose how warm you want to be. Shower has great water pressure and hot water, and a hairdryer and towels are provided. Alex's wife and kids will prepare and serve a lovely breakfast of eggs and toast in the lovely patio. Tea, coffee and water are always available. Truly a lovely place to stay, tucked away in a quite street 10 minutes from the center of Chiang Rai, this is truly a lovely place to stay.

Warin’s house is located in a small village in Wiang Kaen. It’s a cozy, quiet home built by the village, surrounded by nature, with a stunning view overlooking the Mekong River. We had a lovely night there—wish we could have stayed longer! Warin was incredibly kind and helped us arrange the slow boat to Luang Prabang, which made us feel so warm and welcomed. Highly recommended!

Baan Khunsri Guesthouse se nachází v destinaci Čiang Rai a nabízí zahradu a terasu. The best choice we ever made was to spend a month with Bea and Dan. It was even nicer than being home, since we had no housekeeping to do:) Bea and Dan helped us with everything, ideas, drivers, services. The room is large, comfortable, well and tastefully furnished. And we had our own fridge, kettle, etc. The courtyard is calm, clean, with many welcoming sitting corners to choose from. The location is a quiet soi walking distance to and from almost everywhere in Chiang Rai. I can't really find enough good things to say about Baan Khunsri!

The house is beautiful in a nice garden with an interesting history. It has been recently renovated so all of the beds, bedding, towels is new and of high quality - very comfy bed. The location is good to walk into town and also near some interesting temples. The owner is very nice, knowledgeable about the history of the house and was helpful to organise bike rental. The breakfast was also delicious, varied and large portion.
