It is convenient and close to downtown and the markets, and it is quiet enough as the rooms have double pane glass and are in the back of the property. One of the biggest pluses is that they offer a FREE breakfast which is delicious and substantial. I don't know of any other property on Booking.com that gives a free breakfast. But the biggest reason to stay at Baan Jaru is it is a family-run business and the son, Toddy, studied in the UK for many years so he speaks fluent English, is very knowledgeable about the local areas and tourist spots in Chiang Rai, and knows what true guest services should be like. He is the main reason that they are so successful. Their prices are very reasonable and they don't change their room prices in the off or on-season because they have a high-quality product/service. I very highly recommend staying at the Baan Jaru if you visit Chiang Rai. I was 110% satisfied with my stay at Baan Jaru!

Esso the driver who took us on a day trip was marvelous. He was so caring and helpful. We had another driver on our last day who was also very kind and caring.

Joy, the owner, was always willing to help. From the moment I arrived she greeted me with a smile and made me feel welcome. My room was being cleaned as I arrived (I did arrive early) and it smelt so nice and clean as well. The bed I found very comfy. Also, the shower was nice and hot and good pressure. I found everything about the hotel to be a great experience and I will definitely stay again if I am back that way. She even has 2 brand new motorcycles to rent which I took advantage of for a day.

Alex je správný chlap, je společenský, vtipný a ve všem poradí. S jeho ženou jsou velice milí a ochotní, umožnili nám uschovat si zavazadla ještě před check-inem, vrátili jsme se po výletě do krásného a voňavého pokoje, velice příjemné, autentické ubytování s krásnou zahradou. Snídaně byla skromnější, ale velice chutná 👍 Koupelna a WC na pokoji, vybavení sice skromnější, ale vše čisté, poprvé jsem viděla slona z ručníků 😍 Sdílené posezení a nebo soukromé přímo před pokojem. Nabízí dokonce službu praní prádla 👌 Možnost parkování, dobré restaurace v blízkosti, obchůdek taky... Přejeme hodně spokojených zákazníků a děkujeme! ❤️

We had a lovely night there—wish we could have stayed longer! Warin was incredibly kind and helped us arrange the slow boat to Luang Prabang, which made us feel so warm and welcomed. Highly recommended!

The apartments are in a perfect location—close to the bus station and night market, making it easy to explore the city. We were warmly welcomed by the host, who led us through a charming covered courtyard with flowers and a fountain. The room was even better than in the photos—well-designed and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed and more. The bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning was set up so it didn’t blow directly on the head. The room also had a fridge, a kettle, and tea-making essentials. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the bathroom was convenient, stocked with shampoo and toiletries. A delightful surprise was the breakfast in the courtyard by the fountain—soft music, tea, coffee, fruit, toast, jams, and freshly cooked eggs with vegetables, prepared individually for each guest. All of this was offered with a smile and at no extra charge. Thank you to the wonderful staff! We loved our stay and would have gladly stayed longer.
