Auchendennan FarmSelf Catering Cottages offers a beautiful setting in Arden, a short walk from the shores of Loch Lomond and only 2 miles from Balloch. These charming cottages are purpose-built and have free Wi-Fi. Everything! Absolute stunning property just a shame we was not staying longer. We will definitely book again for our trips around Scotland.

This recently renovated holiday home is located 5.2 km from University of Edinburgh and 5.7 km from Royal Mile. The property is non-smoking and is located 5.7 km from Edinburgh Waverley station. Eventhough not in cenntrum, still very well accesable (30 min by bus 31 from the very downtown), quiet place. Nice specious house. Good breakfast you can choose and prepare yourself from given grocery at your favorable time. Nice kitchen ready for cooking.

The room is very clean, huge living/kitchen area with comfort bedroom. Washing machine is helpful for us. The location is great, 5 mins drive to Mealt Falls, 10 mins to Quiraing. I will not spend time to choose my stay if I back to Isle of Skye, Skye Stays is best choice. Tips: 1. The best way to Neist Point is passing Quiraing. 2. Quiraing is very close to Skye Stays, but the road condition is not good, you must drive very slow and careful, Sat Nav will tell you 1~2 mins is enough - in fact you need 8~10 mins with several times stop to take photo.

The property has an outdoor dining area. Auld Tom's Rest definitely was one of the best self-catering accommodations we've ever been to! It is a sweet little house with a nice garden (with a cozy place to sit and a clothesline!) and so very well equipped! Not only did Gary, the host, present us with fresh milk, a bottle of wine, tea and coffee as well as a jar of sweets for the kids; there were so many useful items in the kitchen, like oil, flour, salt, herbs and sauces, even baking paper! Besides, there is plenty of cutlery, plates, all kinds of pots and pans etc. etc. We like to cook so we really appreciated that! A booklet made by Gary gave detailed information regarding the house as well as restaurant/pub recommendations and city maps, which also helped to make our stay as smooth as possible. Thank you for going that extra mile!! Surroundings of the house: We arrived by bus in St. Andrews and walked from the Stagecoach Bus Station to the house: 20 minutes via the city center and next to a little river, very lovely! There is also a (local) bus stop in front of the house. I recommend grocery shopping at Aldi's which is very close to the house, or at Naturity's in South Street (many healthy and organic products).

Do not hesitate to book this property for your vacation on Skye. We had some great few days that in fact proved to be all too short. The owner (Grace) clearly has a deep interest in interior design and have let her creativity loose in this property. Look around and you will find lots of funny little details. Grace was very responsive to any request or question. When arriving the property appeared 100% clean, recently designed with high quality materials, artefacts, and furniture easily accommodating 6 people. The property has two separate rentals, but they are well-divided and you will experience full privacy in your part. The location is stunning along Loch Bay with a 10-15 min drive along a very scenic road to get to the house. This may sound long, but you will experience the difference of nature’s colours and beauty every time you pass. Distances are long on Skye but you have the Quiraing, the Fairy Pools and the Fairy Glen within driving distance – all must-see’s for first time visitors to Skye. For those with an interest in gastronomy and self-catering the presence of an AGA stove will impress (for those not – don’t worry, there is also a normal ceramic stove in the kitchen). There is a small garden with outdoor seating and herbs for free use. Before our arrival Grace had arranged the sourcing of ultra-fresh and beautiful seafood from Just-Hooked in Portree, including lobsters, langoustines and scallops. For those wanting high-end restaurant experiences Michelin-starred Lock Bay is within a short drive or 30-40 min walk, and The Three Chimneys and Edinbane Lodge are within driving distance. Book weeks or months in advance if you want to go to these restaurants.
