Homestays in Abu Simbel

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Wawat — it was truly the highlight of our entire trip in Egypt. The owner, Assem, was incredibly warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. His kindness and hospitality made us feel completely at home. Assem speaks excellent English, and communication with him was always smooth and easy, both before and during our stay. He was always available, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our visit as comfortable as possible. The guest house itself is clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly — which was such a relief in the summer heat — and there was strong Wi-Fi and reliable hot water. Everything was well maintained. This was by far the best place we stayed during our time in Egyp. If you’re planning to visit Abu Simbel, I 100% recommend Wawat. Assem is the best host you could hope for, and staying here truly felt like being welcomed into a home, not just a hotel.

We enjoyed everything. The house was really clean and smelled good. The host was really welcoming, he helped us during all of our stay and wanted us to feel good. He advised us for the restaurant, dropped us to the bus. We had really interesting talk with him, he always take the time for his guests and love his work. We consider him as a friend now.
