Situated 400 metres from Las Arenas Beach, 300 metres from Vizcaya Bridge and 10 km from Bilbao Exhibition Centre, GETXO ROOMS features accommodation located in Getxo. The property is around 12 km from Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, 13 km from Calatrava Bridge and 13 km from Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. Euskalduna Conference Centre and Concert Hall is 13 km away and San Mamés Metro Station is 14 km from the guest house. At the suggestion of Correos, we started our Bilbao segment of the Camino del Norte at the Guggenheim Museum and followed the path along the Nervion River the entire distance to Gexto. Gexto Rooms was chosen primarily due to its proximity to the Vizcaya Bridge (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), but was much more! This small hotel seems to be newly renovated with great attention to detail and hospitality. Bathroom was modern and clean and roomy. Bed was very comfortable and linens were of nice quality. Our hosts were gracious, accommodating, and interested in providing a fine stay, which it was! Note for pilgrims: Though not the "official" Way, this alternate route made for an easy warm-up day to begin our hike to Santander. Civil improvements being made to the pedestrian walkway have softened this largely industrial zone and a Lidl supermarket, located about 5 miles in, carried any beverages or snacks you might wish to stock up on. Arriving in Las Arenas early in the afternoon allowed for a relaxed start to our week and time to enjoy the town's beach promenade and sample plenty of pinchos! The following morning, we crossed over to Portugalete via the gondola— an experience that we would've otherwise missed! The Camino's yellow arrow was easy to find on the other side.

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Lekuona is a recently renovated homestay set in Galdakao, 10 km from Calatrava Bridge. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property and private parking is available on site. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen, full-day security and luggage storage for guests. I was exceedingly late arriving to Lekuona and Fernando was gracious and communicative. The house is impeccable, extreme attention to detail for the guests comfort; the bed and pillows were of absolute highest quality, I wished I could have stayed there longer just to sleep and rest; the bathroom very clean, great shower, monogrammed towels. Very quiet. I had to leave at dawn to the airport, and it couldn’t have been more conveniently located to drive. I will return to Lekuona.

Guests staying at this homestay have access to a balcony. The property is 1.3 km from San Mamés Metro Station, and within 700 metres of the city centre. Raúl was a great host. He provided all the information needed in a very orginazed way and I found him very reliable from the day I booked the apartment. I think he was very generous with the confort provided during our stay. Thank you so much! The apartment is super cozy, has enough space and is very well kept. You will also find all the kitchen supplies and food basics that you don't usually buy in the supermarket for a 3 day stay such as olive oil or salt, for example - I found it a very kind gesture from the host and I hope all the future guests are deserving of it! 🙂. If there is anything you'd want specifically, there is a Lidl supermarket just 2 minutes away by foot. The location is also great, a 15 min walk will get you to all the Bilbao main attractions such as Casco Viejo, Guggenheim or Moyúa Plaza (for transport to Gaztelugatxe, Portugalete/Getxo & Airport). The quality-price ratio couldn't be any better in my opinion. Was perfect for a 3 day stay in the city.

It is convenient for Bilbao, close to the train station that has a frequent service into the centre and is in a nice area. The host Jose was fantastic, very welcoming and extremely helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again

Great views of the hills around the city from the 14th floor apartment. Great breakfast!

The property has city and quiet street views, and is 23 km from Bilbao Cathedral. The guest house offers mountain views, a sun terrace, and free WiFi is available. A great stopping off point if heading to Bilbao for the ferry, in a small traditional village with lots of old stone buildings overlooking a river. The guest house and the room are gorgeous, with a fabulous bathroom with high end fittings. The main square a very short walk away has a number of bars and restaurants.
