Absolutely beautiful property! Sauna was incredible…do not pass it up if you stay. We opted for the rustic cabin which got fairly chilly in the winter, but the wood stove worked great and heated the space up quickly. Everything was thought of and we loved the stay.

The units come with carpeted floor and feature a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, a dining area, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, and a shared bathroom with shower and a hair dryer. An oven, a microwave and toaster are also provided, as well as a coffee machine and a kettle. At the homestay, every unit includes bed linen and towels. This was a great find. It’s just out of the town centre but the bus service is reliable and you can pay with contactless card and the host gave v clear instructions re timetables. Also, the can services are great. Local ones, Bolt and Uber all good. Host recommended Bolt, which worked great. So I still give top marks for the location. Because it was also magical to wake up in such a quiet residential area to the arctic morning sun, the cushioned quiet of the snow and the soft, soothing pastels of the low sun reflected on the frozen ground. The forested area behind the building is lovely. The views are nice. It took time to acclimatise, arriving solo in the dark and freezing cold to the train station but the flat is clearly a home and there were nice touches, especially Christmas lights and features, and friendly instructions and a guest book full of entries. It is spacious and spotless and the plants are in rude health! A very nice sign :) It was nice someone was there when I arrived. That may not have been planned but for me, it was nice to be met by a warm and friendly woman who was finishing the cleaning and who could also tell me exactly where the bus stop was!

The area is popular for skiing and cycling, and bike hire is available at the homestay. Absolutely loved this house! We arrived at 11pm and our host (Tuija) kindly welcomed us and showed us around. The house is cosy, warm and has everything we needed - very well equipped, even got wool socks for guests to wear inside the house! Great level of attentiveness. We really enjoyed the backyard facing the river and tranquility of the environment. Beds were comfortable and warm.

A good location for a hassle-free stay in Kukkola, Kukkolaforsen Turist & Konferens is a guest house surrounded by views of the river. The property features a bar, barbecue facilities and parking on-site among other facilities. Located on the beachfront, this property features a private beach area, an open-air bath, a terrace and free WiFi. The guest house has family rooms as well as facilities for disabled guests. Nice modern rooms and spacious bathroom. In this building there’s always two rooms sharing one hallway which was convenient for us as a family of four. This also comes handy during winter where you can leave wet and snowy clothes. There is even a dryer facility at the entrance. Good children’s playground. The smoked fish (sik) is excellent.

We had an exceptional stay at Saris (and her sons) place. She is renting out two rooms in her really big and cozy apartment. Both, the apartment and room are super clean. Sari provides room towels, bath ropes and a hair dryer. Breakfast is included, which means in this case that you have access to a fridge with multiple options for a simple but good breakfast, including vegetables and fruits. You can also make some coffee or tea. The kitchen is very well equipped and you're able to use it freely and cook something for dinner yourself. Sari is really kind, patient, always eager to assist and answers all your questions. Additionally she provides great inside tips on tours and places in Rovaniemi. Her welcoming atmosphere lets you truly feel at home. Even though the apartment is not in the middle of the city center you can walk there easily or use the buses which leave at a 3 minute walking distance from the house. We can most definitely recommend staying with Sari and are looking forward to staying at her place again when we come back!

Resort Kurjenoja, a property with a terrace, is situated in Rovaniemi, 10 km from Arktikum Science Centre, 12 km from Santa Park, as well as 14 km from Santa Claus Village. This homestay features free private parking and a shared kitchen. Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking homestay has a sauna. The room is really spacious, with all you need. If you arrive early enough you can use the sauna, kitchen is huge. The only thing that could be unpleasant is that you can't access the toilet directly from your room. Anyway the family is super nice and for me was not a problem at all.

The house was amazing , very warm , cozy, very clean, it had everything inside and even more ! The location was perfect , near the airport, near the SCV and near the city but in the quiet place, with a lot of snow and surrounded by trees what made that place magical . The owners thought about every small detail. The sauna was great. I recommend that place to everyone, especially with the kids :)
