Hosts were very accommodating despite speaking little English and my limited Japanese. Translation app overcame that barrier. A stocked fridge and comprehensive facilities made my stay very enjoyable. I was able to cook a simple meal, and do some laundry without having to leave the guesthouse in the heavy snow! The cherry on top was the owner driving me to the dinosaur museum in the morning. Very unexpected but much appreciated.

Boasting a garden and views of garden, 温泉民宿三国縁 is a recently renovated guest house set in Sakai, 20 km from Phoenix Plaza. A hot spring bath is available for guests. The appartement was very clean, serene and calming. It has a nice Japanese feel and the hosts were very kind!

Located within 26 km of Fukui International Activities Plaza and 26 km of Phoenix Plaza, 越前海岸 ゲストハウス オーシャンズ Echizen Coast Guesthouse OCEAN'S features rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom... Nice atmosphere, great host and accommodation! A pity we only stayed one night.

The air-conditioned accommodation is 21 km from Phoenix Plaza.... Large modern home, parking outside the front door, quiet neighbourhood, fully equipped kitchen, huge rooms, air-conditioning in every room, dimmable lighting, oversize very comfortable beds - amongst the best we’ve slept on in Japan.

Set in Ōno, 貸切宿 だんねだんね Private guest house Danne-Danne is a recently renovated accommodation, 29 km from Fukui Prefecture Industrial Hall and 30 km from Fukui International Activities Plaza. What is see is what you get (and with Japan standard of cleaniness!) If you are looking to stay in a traditional japanese home, Danne-Danne is an excellent choice - with modern facilities but with the old style. The host was also super helpful and responsive!

古民家の宿「こはる」 is a recently renovated homestay in Obama, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The family is very friendly and cute. The house is just awesome and I strongly suggest to take the diner and breakfast because the food is simply delicious. I could even tried a real kendo outfit and met one of the daughter from Okinawa with her lovely newborn. We had great chat and we tried dishes I didn't existed. They're also very generous. We had to leave very early in the morning, so they got up to make us small bento box for the road. I strongly recommend.

A recently renovated homestay situated in Ichiarakawa, 1日1組限定 体験型古民家宿"ハレハレ" 超新鮮卵かけご飯付き-自給自足を営む若夫婦がセルフビルドした宿- 平飼い卵の収穫と五右衛門風呂沸かし体験付き features a garden. Super friendly, great experience.

Tsumesyo Mikuni asub Sakais, Phoenix Plazast vaid 20 km kaugusel. Kohapeal on tasuta jalgrattad, aed ja pakihoid. Külalistemajal on privaatne sissepääs, et muuta peatumise ajal mugavamaks. Located in the centre of Mikuni, a lovely seaside village in Fukui with a historic quarter. Mikuni Tsumesyo is located on the main street running along the axis, so it is conveniently located to everything you need. The house is truly amazing,, the photos do not do enough justice; gardens interior and design are all impeccable. I really enjoyed staying here but I wish could luve out of the house for an entire month.
