The owners are the nicest people ever, they helped us with car rental issues, with booking programs, recommended nice places to visit and suggested the best local restaurant, called Hama! The place is wonderful, brand new, super clean, perfectly equipped, comfy beds, nice kitchen and an awesome rooftop terrace. You need a car in Ishigaki anyways, so the location with car is perfect, away from the touristy city in a quiet lovely area, few minutes drive from Kabira bay and the secluded beaches! A well maintained garden with patio, sea shell decorations and a passion fruit tree:) Absolutely recommend the place!

Guest House Ishigaki is a beautiful, extremely clean, and well-designed house equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The Farmer’s Market and tons of great shops and restaurants are a stone’s throw away, as well as the ferry to other nearby islands. We really appreciated Andy & Haruko’s attention to sustainability throughout, and their thoughtful touches, like the cold jasmine tea in the fridge at all times to cool down from the heat. We had let them know in advance that we would be working remotely and they even created a desk space for us in our room. And the beds were SO comfortable - we had the best sleeps here of our 2 months in Japan. Though the location and amenities were amazing, the best part about our stay was undoubtedly the people; Andy, Haruko and Yuichiro are some of the loveliest people who genuinely care about their guests. We could not have wished for anything more!

Be sure to book dinner, it was amazing! (We nearly booked a cheaper "partner offer" which would not have included dinner and breakfast)

The property is around 18 km from Yaeyama Museum, 23 km from Tamatorizaki Observation Point and less than 1 km from Kabira Bay. The guest house has family rooms. Was very clean and good location looking out over kabira bay. I am an 18 year old solo traveller and the staff made me feel at home. The hostel is owned by mother and son and I had a private room and was fed breakfast every morning. Easy to get bus to different beaches/ waterfalls on google maps. They even booked restaurants for me, gave me good diving recommendations and the son - Takashi drove me to the city centre as there were no cabs available due to the triathlon event going on. I will definitely be coming back to this hostel as I had a lovely time. It’s in the quieter area of Ishigaki although I came before the touristy season starts so that’s probably why. But lots to do and everyone I met was so kind. Felt safe walking around alone at night and everyone was always happy to help me!
