It was very much a family endeavor. Smey built the cabins himself. They were set in a lovely, clean, and well tended garden. Smey was always helpful in answering questions, suggesting restaurants etc. and we hired him for a day tour of some nearby villages, which was interesting. The Homestay is away from town, so we rented a scooter and that worked out perfectly but tuktuks are also available. All in all Tribal Homestay was a perfect place for us in Ban Lung and we felt lucky to have spent time there.

The family were the sweetest, friendliest and warm people I've met from other places I stayed in Cambodia. We shared a Christmas dinner together, which was really lovely. The room was comfortable and had a mosquito net. There was wifi, which helped plan my trip for after the trek. There was also a shop nearby, where you can buy snacks and drinks. Highly recommend staying here as you will enjoy every moment.

We learned so much about Kavet minority, plants to eat and to heal, fishing, using bamboo for cooking, drinking, rafting, building..., housing, farming... amazing! We really loved it to be on the trip with those guys! Highly recommend, both tour and Mr. Happy homestay 😊
