Wonderful atmosphere, great location, a really fun place to stay!

I recently stayed at YHA Byron Bay and had an absolutely amazing experience—it’s easily one of the best YHA hostels I’ve visited in Australia. The entire property feels new and modern, a big contrast to older YHAs. One standout is the kitchen facilities, which are top-notch. Everything you need is there, and it’s all clean and well-maintained. They also have washing and dryer machines on-site that are actually new and work really well—much better than the older machines you often find in other hostels. If you’re a digital nomad, you’ll love the dedicated co-working room with fast internet and plenty of space to set up a laptop. Every table has a plug for charging, which can be hard to find in some hostels. It’s comfortable, quiet, and ideal for getting work done. When you need a break, there are tons of cozy spots around the hostel to relax and unwind. During my stay, I joined the lighthouse tour organized by the YHA staff. They were super friendly and helpful, and it was a fun way to meet fellow travelers and explore the local area. The hostel also hosts plenty of events, so there’s always something social to look forward to. Overall, YHA Byron Bay is a fantastic choice—perfect for travelers who value cleanliness, modern amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere. Beautiful, clean and social hostel in the middle of Byron Bay. It has everything you could want as a backpacker here.

Everyone was very lovely, especially the staff. The atmosphere was relaxing, an immersion into nature. I've never been in such a clean hostel before, everything was super neat. You can absolutely regenerate and take a break from the crowded world outside. You also have the chance to socialize and meet interesting people, especially during the night events! I will totally recommend it, you'll love it ;)

The best hostel I've booked to date. They put a lot of effort into maintaining a VERY clean, safe, comfortable and relaxing environment for all guests. Location couldn't be any better, literally just outside is one of the best brunch places in Byron (may I say the best). Staff all lovely. Facilities great and functioning. You meet some great people that are staying there. 10/10!

Great atmosphere, staff and set up...very relaxed vibe with a fountain in the beautiful large pond that's located in the middle. Perfect to chill out with their lounge chairs and music in the air

Great location walking distance into the main parts of Byron bay and the beach. The Hostel was peaceful at night with a friendly atmosphere during the day amongst fellow guests. There is a nice outdoor space with a big lawn and outdoor benches. The showers were clean and the private double bedroom was a good size with storage and fresh clean bedding. There was a good ceiling fan.
