Ryokan was amazing. Great location, central to everything. Building and rooms were authentic, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. All the extra touches like the robes and artwork were very thoughtful. Favourite Japan stay on our trip. Would highly recommend.

Their hospitality is great and run by a sweet family who will make you coffee and make a hot bath for you everyday. Also, the nice owner will drive you from / to the station when you arrived and leaved. They also provide comfy pajama and basic toiletries. Huge common space with kitchen and beautiful view. Delicious local udon shop and famous temples are in 10mins walking distance, you also can rent their free rental bicycle to do your touristy around the city and even to the Setouchi islands.

Really easy and comfortable self-check-in and -out. The room (Nr. 04) was spacious and had a clean and well equipped ensuite bathroom. There’s a public space (lounge and kitchen) with all amenities necessary for eating in. It’s an old building structure but within everything is new and modern. Little downside: it’s not really soundproof. You need to walk and talk quietly, otherwise your neighbors won’t be amused. Nevertheless, it is located in a quiet area, there’s public parking spots just across the street. Shops and restaurants were in walking distance. It’s a really nice space and will be on our list if we manage to come back to Takamatsu.

The cook & main staff was full of kind hospitality. He cooked udon as a breakfast everyday. His Japanese dinner dishes on Thursday were excellent & delicious.

Go Matsuda was very friendly and helpful. He gave us recommendations for our stay, helped with bringing our luggage to our room and took much care that we enjoy our stay. The breakfast was gorgeous and the best during our whole stay in Japan. We also recommend to try the small cakes he offers.

Friendly informative staff. Easy to socialise if you want. Great town to explore from/ in. Quiet even in the dorms. Great to be able to leave your bags and head off for the day. Uno, the islands and area were the highlight of our trip.
