On top of the great location, the staff is very committed to keeping the place clean and making guests feel comfortable, including organizing social entertainment events (games, burgers, tacos). I found that quiet hours at night were respected, and other guests were considerate, allowing me to have a good rest. Overall, a great value for money!

Since I travel with Zero expectations, of course they were all met!! I walked to the hostel and was late getting there, they waited for me, acting like I was right on time!! I made one request and it was granted!! Another plus....my room was right next to the restroom!! I enjoy breakfast, so that was definitely a plus! The facilities were cleaned every day and offered many options, many I did not use or need. The highlight of my stay was the "people"!! Staff and guests! Staff made you feel welcome and valued! Most guests invited conversation! I am extra thankful for Andrew, Andrea and Ana as they at different times went out of their way in helping me navigate my stay with helpful suggestions and advice. They alone would be a strong magnet in making another visit to California Dreamin-Ocean Beach!! They deserve a tip and I forgot to leave one!! Another reason to stay again!!

I liked the environment and vibes of the hostel very much. They have something free to drink or eat in most of days. I stayed in a few hostels but this one made a difference by giving me much more comforts. There is a nice person whose names is Coco. She helped me a lot with my requirements. I really liked the way she approaches people with a smile face. There are many rooms to get some rest, watch tv and play games with friends. The kitchen is big enough and has lots of kitchen stuff. I am sure you find whatever you need. The hostel is very clean and everything is fully organized. I would stay here if i visit San Diego again. So, i strongly recommend this hostel.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

It’s been the best hostel I have stayed, it was really clean, the bed is comfortable and you have your own privacy. The common areas were great and they had everything you need. I also liked how the organize the food in the kitchen.

Friendly people both staff and hostel dwellers. Bars a bit cheaper than LA with proper pints and free entry. Good competitive yet friendly welcoming pool playing at bars just up from the beach.. Winstons club had a truly great band playing with large group of banging musicians and multiple happening vocalists, great after a skin full of Hazy IPA, makes you dance on the wind, you just don't want it to stop...

The hostel was nicely decorated and pretty chill. Some days there are events where you can get free drinks a meet new people. The restrooms and showers were newly renovated and clean. This establishment is perfect for lone or budget travelers.

It was super close to the beach, the people was nice, and it’s in a safe area. The breakfas was good, they have baggel, fruits and cereals, coffe and teas. What I loved is they had a rental shop aswell, so you can rent bikes, surfboards, and lots of other outdoors stuff. they also have a schedule in the main room where it shows different (free or super cheap) activities. I went to a free yoga class infront of the ocean, and I also got fish tacos for $1.5 in the restaurant near the hostel
