The best thing about Secreto is welcoming Staff, you have a feeling like they are your closest friends, they have great energy that makes you want to stay there much longer than planned 😊 special thanks to the Host- Jhorfan, the most relaxed and friendly person we have ever met!!

The hostel is located right on the beach, and had a great vibe from the start! We had some trouble locating it because it was dark and google maps wasn’t helpful. We were running late but the two sisters who own the house waited up for us and made us feel right at home. If you like falling asleep listening to the ocean, under a huge dream catcher this is the place for you! Breakfast is fresh, and the coffee delicious. The artisan shop is right there with lots of creative designs by the sisters. I even met their mother. Such a beautiful family stay.

You can play darts at the hostel. Hostel was nice and chill! There are beach beds you can relax on and take a dip on the sea from their stairs. Note that you need a boat ride to access and leave the property! The staff was happy to help with that, and they provide information how to get to the island. Meals are served at the same time, the staff will ask for your order couple of hours in advance. Between meals you can order snacks and drinks. Usually there was a daily vegetarian and fish dish to choose from, prices were about 30 000 cop/meal. Water and coffee is served throughout the day free of charge. Some of the older reviews say that there’s no water toilets and shower times are limited: this is NOT the case anymore! Toilets work with water and you can shower anytime. Note that shower water is brought from Cartagena so shouldn’t be overused. You also need to use hostel’s own shampoo because of the sensitive mangroves.

Playa Blanca is a few steps from the hostel. Rafael Núñez International Airport is 38 km away. I liked the concept and that everyone is so nice

Featuring a garden, restaurant and views of garden, Ecohotel Arte y Aventura is located in Isla Grande, 500 metres from Playa Libre. Boasting room service, this property also provides guests with a water park. Guests can have a drink at the snack bar.

The area is popular for cycling, and bike hire is available at the hostel. We had a fantastic time at Arte y Aventura. Carlos is a fantastic host, and he taught us about his work in conserving the mangroves around the island. It was super easy to book activites with him and there are quite a few options ie. Snorkelling, kayaking, bioluminescent plankton and others. He cooks lovely dinners and breakfasts also. The location is only a short walk to a lovely beach where you can watch beautful sunrise/sunset. Would definitely recommend to stay here for a peaceful and welcoming stay on Isla Grande.
