The property is set 1.3 km from University of Edinburgh, less than 1 km from Camera Obscura and World of Illusions and a 12-minute walk from Edinburgh Castle. The property is non-smoking and is located 300 metres from Edinburgh Waverley station. The hostel's location is absolutely perfect, right next to Princes Street, the most well-known street in Edinburgh. It's close to all the major attractions, parks, shopping centers, restaurants, cafés, the train station, and the airport express bus stop. The staff were amazing, friendly, well-educated, cool, and extremely helpful, which made both the check-in and check-out processes very smooth. The hostel itself is great, with lots of facilities. There's a well-equipped kitchen that offers free water, tea, and coffee, as well as a comfortable gathering area. The recommendations written on the boards in the gathering area were really helpful and made exploring the city even easier. There were plenty of toilets and showers, so I never had to wait. Everything was spotlessly clean on a daily basis. My room was comfortable, with enough space to store my luggage. The bed was very clean and cozy. The internet speed was also reliable. Overall, this is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at in Europe.

Great location, the hostel felt safe and clean, was nice to only have ladies around and jeez that was like the only hostel I found with 2-level bunk beds (as opposed to 3-levels in most places!) I forgot my phone charger and the staff helped me, thanks a lot. Nice shower too.
The host was amazing and offered to meet in person if it was something I needed. The lock box worked perfectly and getting into the flat was easy. We felt safe and secure in and around the flat. It was a great location for the local sights but also far enough away that we didn't need to listen to street noise or neighbors. The host also has a lot of spices, sugar, tea, coffee, cups, pots, pans, etc. so that you could buy groceries and live cheaper during your visit.
I really liked the vibe. It's a small hostel with a big kitchen which facilitates meeting new people. As a solo female traveler I felt very safe and confortable so a big up to the team!
Probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in! Wonderful people, great location, room was unbelievably comfortable, definitely going to stay in this hostel my next trip to Edinburgh!
I stay here often usually when I get a late flight and can’t get home the same night. Good value for money, cheap stay. I think my last stay was only unpleasant because of inconsiderate people in my room but that’s the nature of hostels.
Great location! However, the hostel was hacked and didn’t seem to care to let us know! We paid twice for the room and neither Edinburgh Backpackers or Booking.com took responsibility for it.
it was an amazing stay, very clean and welcoming place and the staff is great ! It is slightly more pricy than the other youth hostel options I've seen, but I could find a woman's only small dormitory which was perfect for me :) Everything is well maintained and breakfast is good with gluten free options. Highly recommend !
Huge common area, with activities planned by the hostel everyday. Its a great place for all kinds of backpackers and travelers. Rooms are comfy, breakfast is cheap and the location cannot be any better.
Value for money. Cheap and best accommodation option and it will be like hostel type environment as you will be sharing room with other bunk beds. Common kitchen is there to use fridges or microwave...common room to sit and work using the WiFi provided..
