The shared spaces are incredible with plenty of spots to hang out, meet travelers and enjoy the most jaw dropping views. Nice mix of social vibe and ability to grab a quiet spot to read. Rooftop is beautiful and workout space as well. The location in town was amazing for walking to the lake or to events in San Marcos. It’s run by a friendly and accommodating family who take care of all of our needs. I wouldn’t let it concerns about the noise deter you from this gem of a space. I got used to it after the first night and didn’t even use headphones. We also had a freak accident in our room and some furniture was completely randomly damaged. It truly wasn’t our fault but I can imagine many hostel owners would have been way less understanding because it would have been plausible we’d misused their property based on what happened. They were incredibly kind in their reaction and I think it was quite generous of them.

Situated within 46 km of Volcano Atitlan, Hostal The Friends in Panajachel provides a garden, as well as free WiFi throughout the property. Friendly staff! Lovely and clean and quiet rooms! Sweet courtyard to hang out in! Perfect location! What's not to love? I wish I could have stayed here longer.

Located in San Pedro La Laguna, 24 km from Volcano Atitlan, Hotel Villa del Lago features views of the mountain. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Lovely, friendly host. Stunning views, hammocks and outdoor seating for most rooms. Quiet end of town but less 5 mins to everything. Felt very safe. Good cheap laundry. Booked 3 nights ended up staying for a week. Can't recommend enough for the price.

Super chill hostel with a cozy, family vibe. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. WiFi works great (unless all of San Marcos is down). They’re working on a rooftop bar — the terrace is already nice and will be even better soon. Only 10 minutes to the center. Would totally recommend it!

Situated in Panajachel, 47 km from Volcano Atitlan, El Apartamento features free bikes and views of the city. All rooms are equipped with a balcony. At the hostel, rooms are fitted with a terrace. Very simple yet comfortable. The dorm room itself is spacious. Kitchen is small yet functional and Manu was so kind and helpful. The balcony, hot shower, and the neighbors cuddly cat were an enjoyable touch. Recommend trying the Thai food downstairs

Located in San Juan La Laguna, Solola region, El Chirris Las Artes is situated 25 km from Volcano Atitlan. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. Quetzaltenango Airport is 74 km away. We loved our room and the comfortable bed! It was a short stay, so we didn't use the kitchen but it is well-equipped! There is also filtered water, an electric kettle, and a coffee machine. The location is also in the center, and there is a local market right at the corner so it's easy to get some fresh fruits/veggies and snacks there too.

Check in was seamless, great communication from hosts! Would def recommend and will stay again next time I am back in Lake Atitlan.
