We were looking for a clean, calm, quiet, non-smoking, non-drinking place to stay. And we found it here! We loved much natural light through windows (I don't feel comfortable in rooms without windows and I am sure that many foreigners feel like me.) We kept the windows open and enjoyed the clean and fresh air. The environment is so quiet, that most of the time we could enjoy the eagles' voice. A mosque is nearby, you can listen to their prayers, too. We didn't mind it at all. The location is not central, but if you are looking for a calm and peaceful stay, you can find it here, and can reach sights easily. We rented a bike for transportation during our holiday. No smoking and no alcohol is our basic lifestyle and we are happy, that we could find a place where we could avoid smoking and drinking people. Both the room and bathroom were spacious and very clean. We liked the nice interiors and simple decoration. The bed was comfortable with a special mattress. As a guest in Moonshine Homestay you become a part of a loving and caring family. We got much help, even before our arrival. Thank you for all recommendations and advice. We hope we can go back soon.

It was very clean and well maintained. Beds in the dorm are big and with electrical blankets for heating which makes it more comfortable. Washroom is clean and hot water available 24/7. Host is very knowledgeable and friendly and provides motorcycle for rent with riding equipment.

The premises are clean, organised, well-equipped and ventilated along with a WiFi. The hosts are warm and responsive. They are fairly receptive and are constantly upgrading their facilities on the basis of feedback and otherwise. The manager/caretaker Bhupinder uncle is a delightful person, helpful and reasonably flexible. They offer help in navigation to the hostel and elsewhere if the need be. There's a budget restaurant right there. The spacious lounge area and garden adds to the experience. Kudos to Ashish (owner) for conceiving and knitting it all together. All in all, it's a pleasant experience worth revisiting.

Whostels was very clean and cozy, and the staff were all very attentive and warm. The staff immediately assisted with whatever questions we had and were very friendly throughout our few days. The location is great. It is in a very accessible location to the gardens and Dal lake (walkable). For transit, I recommend sharing the street name and locality, rather the name of hostel with taxis and rickshaws for easiest access. We had no trouble reaching all of our desired locations in Srinagar, but it was nice to be off main roads in a quiet village area. The breakfast was also very good 🙏🏻

Monika and Bashar are both great managers and amazing people that will make your stay memorable. The property is pretty and well maintained. Good food in the restaurant, and amazing vibe in common areas. Forest - the dog - is always there for you and your cuddles.

Basit the hostel manager went beyond to arrange for a driver and communicate in English as middle person for my trips to Gulmarg and Pahalgam. He is reliable and responsible. The property is very reasonable for the price. The rooms and toilets are neat. The place in Raj Bagh is a 1km walk from Polo View market and 2.5km walk to Dal lake ghats.

The staff and the owner were incredibly hospitable and genuinely caring. From the moment I arrived, they went out of their way to ensure I felt comfortable and at home. As a solo female traveler, I felt exceptionally safe and respected throughout my stay. The team’s thoughtful approach and attentiveness truly stood out—they provided utmost care and ensured I was always comfortable, which made my experience even more special. The property itself is well-maintained, cozy, and perfectly located to enjoy the serene beauty of Srinagar. Every detail, from the clean and welcoming rooms to the overall atmosphere, added to the charm of the stay. I highly recommend Moustache in Srinagar to anyone, especially solo travelers, seeking a warm, safe, and memorable experience. A huge thank you to the staff and owner for making my trip unforgettable!
