Fludir
Located in Fludir, 25 km from Geysir, Efra Sel Hostel provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen and free WiFi. Very clean and spacious room, the guesthouse has also a living room/kitchen area with nice view. The kitchen is well equipped and we even had a coffee from a machine, enjoying our morning on the terrace. The staff - owners that we met are very friendly and open.
Selfoss
The rooms in the hostel are fitted with a coffee machine. Featuring a shared bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer, rooms at The Coffee House also boast free WiFi. The units will provide guests with a fridge. We stayed at this guesthouse for just one night. We met the host, and she turned out to be a very welcoming and friendly woman. It was a real pleasure to chat with her and learn some nice little details about staying in Iceland.

Some of Geysir Hestar’s accommodation options feature a kitchen and a seating area with sofa. Toilets and showers are either private or shared.
Very welcoming people at the reception, the common area was very clean and there was tea / coffee provided for free!
Also very nice view to the landscape and more notably the very cute rabbits wandering around
Laugarvatn
Set in a 1920s former school building, Héradsskolinn offers both private rooms and dorms. All rooms feature bright décor, lake- or mountain views and access to a pool table and TV lounge. Guests can choose between rooms with private or shared bathrooms. The building is beautiful both inside and out, with a unique charm thanks to its history as an old school. The atmosphere has a very cool, distinctive vibe. Our room was on the smaller side, but it was comfortable and cozy. The shared bathrooms were decent and served their purpose. We also opted for breakfast, which featured a wide variety of options—and everything we tried was delicious.
Selfoss
Rooms at Selfoss Hostel have views of either the garden or Ingolfsfjall Mountain. Each has an in-room wash basin and access to shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.
The Bobby Fischer Chess Museum is 1 minutes’ walk away. Selfoss Golf Centre is 1.1 km from the hostel.
There was a large kitchen with everything. The showers were bigger than normal. The room we were in (5 beds) was comfortable and spacious. Easy to find and lots of parking. Check-in and check-out were made easy. Heating in the room worked fine.

Comfortable room with its own bath and toilet. Great location close to many tourist spots. Close to restaurants and shopping. Comfy bed. The bathroom had a warm towel dryer, which was great as all my clothes got wet from hiking in the rain. Fridge in room. Water cooker and coffee and mugs in the room. Overall a good budget choice if you don't plan to spend time there during the day.
Great location Very clean Comfortable beds
Basic hostel stay. Good kitchen facilities.
Clean, well equipped, nice big room, excellent breakast selection, nice staff, great location - this was easily the best value and despite being cheaper the actual best hotel we stayed in our 4 night pre cruise road trip round southern Iceland
I like the price! The cheapest room we booked in Iceland. The girl that greeted us was very friendly. It's like a mix of guest house and hostel. If you don't have much expectations you will be fine ☺️ Very nice beautiful farm location to have a short night rest. It has a kitchen, 2 shared bathrooms with hand soap, shower and big parking space outside. Easy access, check in. Room was warm. Clean sheets and towels. For a short budget friendly stay in a warm place, close to points of interest I do recommend it!
Nice, new hotel at great location - served as a perfect "strategic" spot for our travel on the westcoast of Iceland. Room (we had a family room with bunk bed) was comfortable and nicely decorated. The bunk bed, in a side area of the room, was great for our son. Breakfast was simple, bread, , yoghurt, pastries, cold cuts, spread coffee / tea and fruit. But everything fresh and delicious. The food hall on the ground floor is a nice touch! Great food in an and easy going setting.
modern quirky twist with the greenhouse theme. restaurants on site superb idea, along with the shopping and ice cream parlour. great location and many things to explore nearby. A budget, bakery, pharmacy, fuel and more very close.
