Laundry is available at an extra charge. Kana was beyond helpful. She helped with every little detail I asked. She even popped down to the bus stop I was waiting at to update her original directions after discovering a change in schedules. And my dorm bunk bed was perfection, large, comfortable, private with a Japanese screen.

The onsen was fantastic, very relaxing. Tattoo friendly as well. Do use bus or taxi if you're carrying luggage, otherwise it's a perfectly fine walking distance from the town. Perfect stay!

It had a nice feel to it. On a quiet street and a short walk from the train station. Everything is newly finished by the owner himself, who is interested in sustainability and local community. The bed was comfortable and the sleeping pod was spacious and well designed. The pods give yiu privacy even if you’re staying with others in the shared room. I had an enjoyable night and this was a good value for money. Beyond that, Takumi (owner) was super friendly and accommodating. His property is a DIY place that he’s built out and is a fun place for building a community. There is a central area to sit and eat, which is a nice way to meet other travelers. If you’re traveling through and want to meet locals and others, I think this would be a great little hub.

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine is 43 km from the hostel. Lovely location with a terrace on top with the view of the Odawara castle. The hosts are extremely nice and helpful, they even let me keep my suitcase there for one more day after the end of my booking. The capsule is cute and comfortable. The building is only 10 minutes by walk from the main station, so that's also a big plus!
