K's house hostels have been exceptionally incredible through my travels in Japan. This one being the best I've had the pleasure of staying in. The cleanliness is equivalent to some of the fanciest hotels out there, I can't overstate how comfy the common areas and rooms are. The onsen is great, although not very large. I picked the cheapest room option, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a massive room with wall sized view right into the forest, comfortable bunk beds with excellent ventilation.

HakoneHOSTEL1914 is located in Hakone, 6 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Train and bus services are available. All rooms are air conditioned. Shared bathroom. Abbiamo trascorso una notte nella camera privata di questo meraviglioso posto: un carino edificio bianco, ricoperto di piante arrampicanti. Kana, la signora che lo gestisce, ci ha accolto e dato tanti consigli su come muoverci e in che direzione orientare la nostra visita. È stata veramente gentile e dolce :) La struttura è ben tenuta: pulita, ordinata e vengono forniti un set di asciugamani, tappi per le orecchie e pantofole. Credo che la stessa esperienza di pernottare qui abbia resto il nostro soggiorno veramente magico. Lo consiglio e ci ritornerei senz’altro.

Ubicato a 38 km da Stazione di Nikko e 38 km da Stazione di Tobu Nikko, Guesthouse Kincha 駅東口 propone camere con aria condizionata e bagno in comune, a Utsunomiya. Just a short walk from the station, this traditional Japanese guesthouse has everything you could possibly need from comfy beds to clean bathrooms. The owner was really hospitable, friendly, and always considerate of his guests and we had many good and informative conversations together. This was one of the best guesthouses I’ve been to in Japan, and I can’t wait to visit it once more.

We had such a wonderful time at Tanigawa Valley Lodge & Coffee Roastery. Staying here felt more like visiting a friend than checking into a lodge. Craig and his family are genuinely lovely… warm, generous, and full of helpful local insights. From day one, Craig helped us plan everything: hiking routes, the best nearby restaurants, even the local swimming spot his family visits daily. He even pointed out interesting local wildlife, which added a special touch to our nature walks. The rooms were super comfortable, breakfast was a delight, and the coffee… well, it lives up to the “roastery” in the name. Truly some of the best we’ve had in Japan. We’re already talking about coming back in winter to experience the area’s skiing. Highly recommended.

In posizione attraente nel quartiere Nakano Ward di Tokyo, GrapeHouse Koenji è ubicato a 500 metri da Keimei Park, 800 metri da Yamato Park e 700 metri da Mabashi Park. Sanae-San was so hospitable, accomodating and she went above and beyond to accomodate my two week stay. The guests were so friendly! I got to meet so many people from all over the world!
