It wasn't the first time I stayed in this hostel, and each time I felt at home. The staff is amazing, great common areas with a jacuzzi outside and two kitchens well equipped ! But what I loved more than everything else is Blake, the hostel's cat, always asking for cuddles or food (in truth, mostly for food 😺).

Accommodation includes private rooms or dormitory-style rooms. All are heated and have linen provided. The private rooms offer fans and a desk. All have access to shared bathroom facilities. This was the third time staying at this hostel. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, kitchen and toilets are always very clean, the bed was very comfortable.

Guests can explore tranquil forest trails, experience heart-pumping bike rides, relax in natural hot springs, and immerse themselves in Maori culture. Great hostel to stay, dorms have a curtain for privacy which is amazing. Common areas are like brand new. Staff was really nice and helped us plan our stay around.

The beds are really comfy and the area was quiet. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The kitchen is well-equipped and kept very clean.

Children are permitted to stay at Rotorua Central Backpackers but must be accompanied by an adult and either stay in a private room or a privatised dorm. An accompanying adult, staying in the hostel at the same time, can provide consent for a child to stay in a private room alone. The house is located right across the police station which is super safe and cozy. The room is big enough and the atmosphere is friendly. Lovely place.

Smoke Lake Hot Springs Lodge and Camp is in the heart of Rotorua on the edge of the famous Kuirau Geothermal Park. We are a family run business and have been here for 38 years. We welcome you for a simple bathe and stay experience. We have a restaurant onsite that is open for Breakfast, and we are happy to help you with your travels. Hot pool was open until late. The cabin was clean, toilet was really nice, also the heater was good to have for the cold weather. They have a pool table which is pretty cool and a free simple, but nice breakfast. Location was the best, walking distance every where!
