Chubut, an Argentine province located in Patagonia, offers a unique biodiversity in its flora and fauna. In this scenario of steppes and desert landscapes, the flora adapts to extreme weather conditions with hardy shrubs such as calafate, mata negra and neneo, along with various species of grasslands that dye the valleys and slopes green. Chubut's fauna is equally captivating, with seabirds such as cormorants and gulls on the coast, while on land it is common to spot guanacos, foxes, sheep and rheas. The rivers and lakes are home to trout and salmon species ideal for sport fishing, and the nearby waters are visited by southern right whales, penguins, orcas, toninas, sea lions and elephant seals. Chubut is a treasure of biodiversity, where flora and fauna intertwine in a unique balance.
