We are originally, English born, professional actors who used to run Live History - aiming to make Hobart's history come alive using drama!! Judith is a keen gardener (reflected in the lovely garden in which 19 Blue is set) and Chris loves cryptic crosswords and vehement debating on just about any topic under the sun!! We retired after the pandemic hit and spend our time gardening, looking after grandchildren and making soap and face creams. We love still being involved in tourism and meeting new people. Our aim is to provide the kind of place that we like to stay in ourselves.

Blackmans Bay is unashamedly a suburb of Hobart but such a beautiful one! 19 Blue has views over the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. The lovely beach at Blackmans Bay is just 8 minutes walk away. There are good restaurants and cafes along the beach front. There is a lovely cliff top walk along to nearby Kingston Beach which has cafes, a wine bar, a Health Centre and some unique shops. You must not miss a visit to Boho the most groovy cafe, clothing and homewares shop - it's our favourite! Just a minute's drive away from 19 Blue, guests can find Bayview Market which has just about everything you need: pharmacy, doctor's surgery, hairdresser, high class grocer, bakery, and sushi bar Many guests simply relax at 19 Blue and don't go anywhere beyond the immediate vicinity - Tasmania has such a laid back lifestyle!
