Breathe easy amongst 33-acres of peaceful Mudgee scenery. This authentic, natural wooden cottage melts away city stress. The open living and dining room features air conditioning for all-season comfort and has two generous lounges centring a fireplace. A selection of books and a music system makes for the perfect digital detox. Alternatively, a pocket Wi-Fi system is at your disposal. While there is Wi-Fi, it cannot be used for streaming or downloading as it will slow speeds dramatically. Pre-download shows and movies before arrival. Mealtimes are at the heart of holiday memories. Under sunlit windows, the dining table seats eight and the kitchen is complete with a stove, oven, fridge, plus small appliances such as a microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine to make sharing your favourite recipes effortless. A veranda wraps around the house with a cosy chair hammock and plenty of seating for everyone to savour the unbeatable views. A barbeque and fire pit is perfect for magical nights dining under the stars. The downstairs queen bedroom flows open to the veranda with breezy curtains and a ceiling fan. The room also includes bunk beds suitable for children. Relax in the bathtub in the central bathroom and feel fresh with the provided hygiene products, hair dryer, wide vanity and mirror. Up the spiral staircase lies the primary bedroom with a queen-size bed, and a third bedroom with two singles. Both bedrooms open to their quaint balconies with relaxing views, as well as ensuite bathrooms with a shower. **A small colony of protected microbats lives in the ceiling above the room with two single beds. The space is fully sealed, so they cannot enter the house, though you may hear them at times. They’re harmless and simply part of the natural surroundings of this unique retreat. Getting here is simple with three parking spots onsite. For those travelling with a baby, a highchair, baby gates, porta-cot and local babysitter suggestions are available on request.

Neighbourhood information

Scenic Budgee Budgee is just 11-kilometres from the popular town of Mudgee. The area is renowned for great wine and September is Food and Wine Month with plenty of special events on offer. Bring the family along to Slowfox Wines to enjoy the children's play area. Hire bicycles at Pieter Van Gent Vineyard to enjoy the scenery on the way to your next destination. Both are a mere six-minute drive from your door. Perouse Mudgee Arts Precinct or the Farmers Markets on every third Saturday of the month. To connect with nature, you can see the land from hiking trails, kayaking, or even hot air ballooning. If you’re enchanted by the sky above, only 30-minutes away is Mudgee Observatory, where you can book both day and night guides. Enjoy these activities and then retreat to your secluded cottage. Please note that some construction is happening about 500m away. It typically starts around 7:30 AM on weekdays. This should not significantly affect your stay, aside from some minor noise.
