When Rick and Sarah Stein purchased the house in September 2009, it represented everything they love about Australian beach life when the wide railed veranda all the way around the house making you feel that you’re at sea on a liner. Waking up on the first morning we stayed at the house, to hear the three resident kookaburras was a bit special for me too. Since then we’ve furnished and decorated the house not totally true to the 60’s but sort of staying true to the feel. The rattan and white linen sofas are much more contemporary. The beds too are rather more comfortable than those I recall from those days. The plumbing has been renewed and you will have to excuse the plasma TVs and Austar and some rather charming lampshades in the kitchen made of Vietnamese lobster pots.
