I have enjoyed creating the relaxed outback farm atmosphere and accommodation here. I expect people to come as they are and they can expect the same from me. After a long day a GnT never goes astray. I'm an ex foodie who lived in Paris for 2 years while working for the UN and loves using Australian and especially QLD ingredients - my cooking always hits the spot. I enjoy showing the over 8's to make varieties of pasta, butter, a range of pastries for different dishes and sometimes we dabble in soft cheese making or kombucha. As an ex teacher ,and at times, guiding at Perth Zoo, I am keen to pass on all that I know about the animals, domestic and wildlife, to children in particular and also help anyone with reservations about animals to look at them through different eyes. My communication is frank and open and isn't always appreciated at first but I'm genuine and speak directly about a subject when I need to and aim to demonstrate good values like inclusivity and authenticity. As a hostess I will do my utmost to meet your needs, even learning how to cook a new dish if it's a favourite. Ensuring all guests are comfortable and enjoying themselves is ,after all, my job.

A warm friendly environment with enough opportunity to mingle and chat or spend private time in the studio with direct access to the farmhouse yard or the privacy of an especially quiet double bedroom with attached sun /TV room, accessed by French Doors. Explore the solitude in the stark spaces or immerse yourself in animal antics with the rescued wildlife and farm animals onsite. For the adventurous and free souls bathe under the stars in the naturally heated artesian water in your private bathtub. under the stars . Onsite experiences including wildlife. history and cooking opportunities and food indulgences such as a Redclaw menu. (Outback Fresh Water Crayfish). Cooking is a passion and your meals use the best ingredients and include old fashioned Aussie favourites, for the traditional at heart ,and the best quality steak for grills. Queensland fish, Goat and lamb from our property are available. As a developing eco-village day work continues as well. The flood of 2019 was a trigger to create an optional 3/4 hour experience which is a window into the harsh life lived every Summer in these Climes. Come and enjoy.

The grasslands, sky and stars are spectacular in Nelia. We are 50kms to Julia Creek and 100kms to Richmond. Many cattle stations are just a short trip away, while we are in a developing eco village our goats and poultry as out only direct neighbours Seasonal swimming and fishing at local waterholes are seasonal , or night hunting are possible if enough notice is given.
