Daintree Secrets is a uniquely situated holiday home, set in the world's oldest rainforest over a permanently running crystal clear mountain stream with its own private swimming hole and waterfalls.
Set on 4 acres, most of which is verdant rainforest, you have total privacy and can enjoy the natural wonders of this ancient world heritage rainforest from the comfort of your holiday home. Your carbon footprint is minimal as we have both hydro-electric and solar power. The house sleeps seven persons in three bedrooms, and boasts an enormous deck with panoramic 270-degree views over the stream and three metre deep swimming hole, as well as into the rainforest canopy. Birdlife is abundant as are fish and turtles in the stream. The property's elevation and water temperature mean that crocodiles are not a concern. Shops and restaurants are within ten minutes drive.
Centrally located, you are close to all natural attractions and local nature and cultural tours. Activities are plentiful: scenic walks, guided nature trails, crocodile and wildlife tours, indigenous cultural tours with local Kuku Yalanji guides, swimming in pristine mountain streams, sailing, snorkelling, diving and more.
I am a professional who loves to travel. I particularly love nature - the ocean, mountains... This is how I discovered Daintree Secrets. David Attenborough when asked, named the Daintree as his favourite place on earth and I have to agree. We love to share this unique property with others, hence letting it as a guesthouse. We get such a kick out of the feedback that we get from guests that have stayed a few days at Daintree Secrets and have been blown away by the serenity and the beauty of our beautiful and unique piece of paradise.
I make sure that I get to stay at least 4 times each year to truly unplug from the madness of every day life and running a business. As soon as you board the ferry to cross the Daintree River, you can feel yourself relax.
The Daintree / Cape Tribulation area has so much to see and do. From gentle walks on board walks or the local beaches to hiking and mountain climbing: fishing, swimming, snorkeling and diving on the Great Barrier Reef: guided jungle walks, bird watching and crocodile tours: visiting any number of local attractions like the Discovery Center, Daintree Ice Cream or Daintree Village with its arts and crafts. You will not run out of things to do and see.
