Set on 10 acres in the quiet countryside, Drumreagh is just 2km from Deloraine.
It is surrounded by hawthorn hedgrerows and has two wonderfully huge Redwoods welcoming you at the front entrance and a tree lined driveway into the property. A view of the Great Western Tiers is visable from Drumreagh.
We have a small pet farm with alpacas, jersey cows, cats, a dog, chooks and a nightlife of wallabies, potter roos, rabbits, possums and hares. A wombat has also been known to make his presence felt.
Breakfast provisions are provided (first morning only) which include bread for toast, spreads, tea, coffee, butter, juice, milk along with eggs for you to cook at your leisure.
The Meander river is just a short distance from Drumreagh Cabins and offers a lovely 2km circuit walk where you may be lucky enough to spot the resident platypus.
Deloraine is a great place to make a base for sight seeing. It is 30 minutes from Launceston and 30 minutes from Devonport. The Cataract Gorge in Launceston is a must to see. The view from the chair lift is amazing.
Devonport is where the Spirit of Tasmania docks and has the Don Railway which has an operating steam engine. Latrobe is on the way from Devonport to Deloraine and has quite a lot of Antique shops to browse through.
Sheffield is the town of Murals. Most of the buildings have rural scenes painted on the sides of them. Along the way there is the Ashgrove Cheese Farm. If you like cheese then that is a must. Onwards to the Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm. Then there are the Caves at Mole Creek and the pub makes a mean pie for lunch. The 41 degrees Salmon farm also at Mole Creek shouldn't be missed. Hot smoked salmon at it's best.
There are enough waterfalls and walking trails close by to keep you busy for quite a while. We are about 45 minutes to the Great Lakes and 1 hr 45 mins to Cradle Mt.
