The Potters
The Dunkeld Old Bakery began operating in 1887 in a tiny cottage in a quiet backstreet. The menu is designed around the historic wood fired oven, which is one of only a handful left operational in the state. Artisan sourdough breads are baked daily.
Geoff and Belinda grew up in regional Victoria and after stints in Canberra, London and Melbourne, moved to Dunkeld in 2011 to raise their four children. Geoff began at the bakery in 2016, learning the art of working in a century old bakehouse from the previous owners. He took over the business in July 2017.
Dunkeld is a lovely little town with wide streets lined with European and native trees. The Old Bakery is situated close to the recently refurbished Sterling Place Community Centre, and beside the Catholic Church. It is within easy walking distance of the town centre, including the Royal Mail Hotel.
