Set overlooking Marrangaroo Creek, this beautifully restored 1880s cottage offers guests peace and tranquility with close proximity to the natural and historical treasures of the Blue Mountains, Wolgan Valley and Central West NSW.
The farm-stay provides opportunities to enjoy the area’s abundant wildlife and a vast array of native birds. Set on a working sheep and cattle farm, visitors can observe and even participate in farming activities. Backing on to the state forest, there is ample bush-walking available within walking distance of the cottage. BBQ facilities are available at the cottage or guests can make use of the farm’s bush kitchen to enjoy a campfire under the stars. Fire wood is provided.
Due to the historical nature of the building and its proximity to a pristine creek, the cottage utilises a low-impact, environmentally friendly chemical toilet and a hand-held shower. The kitchenette includes a microwave, pod coffee machine, tea-making facilities, fridge and toaster. A delicious continental breakfast of cereal, toast, yoghurt and fruit, or bacon and eggs is provided
We are looking forward to sharing this lovely location with you. You may prefer to enjoy a drink on the verandah, listening to the murmuring creek, watching the calves romp in the setting sun, or embracing the location with a walk in the bush possibly spotting a lyrebird or at least hearing the abundance of local birds.
You are welcome to watch or even participate in working with the sheep or cattle. The Dexter cattle are a smaller-than-usual breed making them easier to handle but providing a lovely quality. Dorper sheep shed and so require no shearing. They are often hand-fed to ensure they are quiet and easy to handle.
As we live on-site we are able to provide directions to local attractions as well as activities around the farm. We are available if you require us but distant enough to ensure your privacy.
