Hobart Hideaway Pods are pleased to announce we have just won Gold for Standard Accommodation, and Bronze for Eco Tourism at the 2017 Tasmanian Tourism Awards. Hobart Hideaway pods is set in a rural setting with views to The Derwent Estuary and glimpses to Mt Wellington. We have 2 pods both equipped with a king-sized bed/2 singles. Towels, hair dryer, composting toiletries, shower & basin. Also provided is an iron and ironing board, coat stand, hangers, TV, heater, Wi-Fi next to the main house, books, magazines & some games.The kitchenette includes a kettle, toaster, bar fridge, microwave. Tea & coffee is complimentary.Both pods have bi-folding doors, which open up the entire front onto sweeping decks.
Your Hosts
We are Tanya, Bryan and Lara. After searching the country for many years for a place to call home we discovered Tasmania was the best place on Earth and wanted to share it with visitors. With a passion for creating beautiful spaces in an amazing location. We offer you all the comforts of home without impacting on the natural environment. The Pods were established for all to enjoy. I love cooking, gardening and sustainable practices. I have a long background in hospitality and look forward to welcoming you.
We strive to incorporate as many environmentally conscious decisions into our pods as we can. These include: reed bed absorption trenches for onsite processing of grey water, composting toilets (the luxurious kind!) for water saving, solar passive design to reduce electricity use, self-sufficient water supply, VOC free paints and sustainably sourced building materials.
With all this in mind the pods are beautiful spaces for people to enjoy!
We fell in love with a 2.5 acre block just 20 mins from Hobart nestled in the foothills below Mt Wellington with expansive water views and it’s own little dam, lush green pasture and a small collection of native trees…there was also the ramshackle mob of neighbouring sheep, goats, alpacas, marauding native hens and inquisitive wallabies, pademelons and mischievous possums to keep us constantly amused…
