“The place is magical. Campfires, horses, cows and wallabies for company. The accommodation is basic so don't expect hotel standards - more like clamping. We loved it.”

Kurcow Farm was once known as Barnwell Farm.
Coffee was extensively grown throughout the Kuranda/Myola region in the early 1890's until frosts wiped out large numbers crops in the early 1900's. Robert William Warren purchased portions of the land at Barnwell in the 1890s and established a coffee plantation on the property which was named "Downtown Farm." Dairy cattle were bought to Barnwell by William Henry Barnwell in 1936 and by 1939 Dairy cattle remained on the property until some point following World War II. It has been said that William Henry Barnwell was one of the earliest cattle farmers in the Myola and Kuranda areas to carry Droughtmaster cattle.
Opening to public in August 2018, Barnwell Farm now welcome visitors daily from all over the world. Offering its guests an interactive, Australia cattle experience with a little adventure thrown in also and exquisite cuisine.
The villa consist of 2 en-suite cabins sleep 2 adult and 2 children, farm entry to Petting Zoo is included. The room is not interconnect with a fence court yard. The interior space is not big and not suitable for long stay. Wi Fi in room is poor good in court yard.
Fire wood is available for purchase.
Our family came from Sydney and l worked overseas for 15 years and decided come back to Australia in 2014 when we purchase the farm. Cairns is a special place I loved it ever since when I did my first dive many years ago and always came back for holiday.
Worked in hospitality all my life and always wanted to have a farm and live self sufficiently. Currently we have 200 heads of cattle and a 10 acre produce garden. We run 50KW solar and able to get drinking water from the bore .
Plenty to see in Kuranda, the famous Barron Fall and Kuranda village is a must for all visitors in cairns and it is only 8 minutes drive from farm.
Palm Cove, and Cairns CBD is 35 minutes drive and Atherton Tableland and Port Douglas is about 1.5 hr.
