There is so much to see and do in Hobart - from the beaches and bushwalks, to the amazing range of cultural opportunities on offer. I feel really lucky to live in Hobart, and am so pleased that we are able to give others the opportunity to share in this beautiful place. Bellerive is a sought after and busy little suburb of Hobart on the sunny eastern shores of the Derwent River. Bellerive is located between the city and the airport. Just 6km from the CBD, it is a short drive or ferry ride across the river. Bellerive has a major shopping centre within 2km, as well as restaurants, cafes and take aways. Bellerive has a marina, as well as a beach and parks. The foreshore walking track is the perfect place for a morning walk. Bellerive is best known as the home of international cricket ground Bellerive Oval – more recently known as Blundstone Arena. The area around Bellerive Quay and the boardwalk has a quaint village feel, with many historical homes and buildings in the area, some of which date from the early 19th century. At the point of Bellerive Bluff is the 19th century British fortress known as Kangaroo Battery (aka The Bellerive Fort) (built 1885) which is now a public park.
