Il Montague Island Lighthouse si trova al largo della costa vicino a Narooma e offre 2 strutture private. La tariffa include il trasferimento di andata e ritorno in barca dal molo di Narooma e un tour dell'isola di 2,5 ore. Enjoy a weekend getaway in the historic Montague Island Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottages and experience a unique adventure. What could be more romantic than a night on an island in an historic lighthouse keeper’s cottage? Perfect for a special getaway or memorable occasion with friends and family, you’ll get a taste of island life on this unique wilderness sanctuary. Built in 1881, the heritage cottages have been lovingly restored in the style of the era, except for one important feature. You’ll have access to all the modern conveniences to ensure your stay is comfortable and relaxed. Unwind on the wide verandahs and watch for whales out at sea. Steal a moment of solitude in the secluded courtyards and reading rooms, or cook up an island feast in the fully-equipped kitchen. Access to the island is via boat transfer from Narooma Wharf (included). All guests will receive a 2.5 hr tour of the island. Please take note of important information on this property.

Montague Island Nature Reserve is home to hundreds of seals and more than 90 bird species. Enjoy a stay in a heritage lighthouse keeper’s cottage. Montague Island Nature Reserve, just off the South Coast near Narooma, offers the chance to experience a spectacular wildlife wonderland. Choose a day trip or indulge your inner mariner and stay in historic lighthouse accommodation. There’s always the option to really get amongst it and become a conservation volunteer. Any way you experience it, the incredible heritage, wildlife and breathtaking island views could keep you coming back. Visit from late winter to early December to see hundreds of seals lazing on the rocks, or bring your binoculars for a spot of birdwatching. More than 90 bird species have been seen on the island and 15 of them nest over summer. During spring, you’re likely to see whales frolicking in the water on their annual southern migration. Our knowledgeable tour guides will be on hand to answer all your questions. For a more hands on experience, why not participate in the penguin survey program? Volunteers help monitor and protect nesting boxes on the island provided for the little penguin colony.

Please note that Montague Island is an offshore island. It can be cut off from the mainland vessel access due to sea and swell conditions thus delaying access to and from the Island. In some instances delays may involve several days.

There is no private vehicle or vessel access to the island. Montague Island is only accessible via one of NSW National Parks & Wildlife contracted commercial vessel tour operators.

Should it be unsafe for visitors to depart the island nominal additional program fee will be charged at $30 per person per night.

In the event that NPWS has to cancel the program prior to departure participants will be given a full refund.

NPWS or Booking.com will not be liable for any additional costs incurred due to delays or cancellations. Travel insurance is highly recommended.

Participants will be contacted by the Discovery Coordinator to arrange transfers. Boats usually depart 08:30 or 12:30 from Narooma Wharf.

Boat transfers to the island are included in your accommodation package. The Discovery Coordinator will contact guests to arrange travel details prior to arrival.

Please note there is an island access fee for return boat transfer included in the price.

Please note in regards to the 2.5 hour tour of the island, the day of the tour can be negotiated with the Discovery Coordinator prior to arrival. Tours commence at 09:30.

Please note Montague Island Lighthouse is a remote property, so please make sure you arrive well-prepared to be self-sufficient during your stay.
