Caroline is a Queenslander, birthplace being Bundaberg & having lived in 2 Queenslanders as a child. She had the privilege of living in Switzerland then 4 cities in France for several magnifiques years! Robert originates from Nice. For him, food has always been a family affair - his father, a wonderful French cook, Robert fondly remembers his Italian Nonna rising at 5 am to make homemade gnocchi, teaching him from age 12 to cook French/Italian dishes

The greatest beauty of our B&B property is that we are nestled in the Hills of the Gold Coast Hinterland, the Green behind the Gold, secluded in the beauty of rainforest bushland. Yet close enough to National and Theme Parks, also shopping complexes to be able to have easy access to whatever needs you may have. Riviera B&B (formerly Gilston Retreat) was built in 1837, then consisting of just 4 rooms, the current kitchen and dining room as well as 2 bedrooms. In 1953 the rest of the house was built (upstairs only) with outhouse & laundry sink underneath. It was restored in 1985 and beautified some time later by a Dutchman and his wife. We have retained their style because of the European flavour whilst adding French touches throughout the B&B.
