Spend your days exploring Tasmania's Wild West Coast or pop the kettle on and enjoy the stunning views from the shack's cosy interior. Our wonderful caretaker Rachael is on hand and happy to help you during your stay should you need her. Please be mindful of her time and only contact her in an emergency after hours. The serenity and close-knit community is what makes Lettes Bay so special. In summer you can enjoy wandering along the waterfront, of our communally shared grounds or take out the kayaks we provide. Winter is magical too! Rug up or get out for long walks, take a steam train ride or explore the harbour with a river cruise! The West Coast Wilderness Railway is only a five-minute drive from the cabin, and the Gordon River Cruise terminal is less than a 10 minute drive away. Please note: There is signed 'Private' road at the end of Lettes Bay Road, not for guest access. The charm of Strahan is that it is remote - 5 hours by car from Hobart and 4.5 hours from Launceston. Be aware that sometimes phone coverage is limited. Telstra is the most reliable mobile service. We do have Wi-Fi in the cabin but you will need to have your essential information printed out when you are on the road. The weather can be a little wild during the winter months and very occasionally the roads can be affected. So, check the latest road conditions particularly during the winter months. It’s wise to consider travel insurance in case you need to cancel at short notice.
