''The Muddy" is a fabulous luxury barn conversion on the outskirts of the beautiful township of Alexandra, at the gateway to Victoria's high country and Lake Eildon. Sitting on 4 acres with a spectacular rural outlook, the Muddy is fully self contained within beautifully landscaped private gardens, all just a 2 minute drive to Alexandra. With a wood fire heater and air conditioning, this is the ideal couples get away in both summer and winter, all less than 2 hours away from Melbourne. Please note that one load of firewood is provided free of charge per 2 night booking. Extra firewood is available at 50 dollars per load. A record player is available for guest use with plenty of vinyl records to chose from however damage to the needle will be charged to the guest Cost: 150.00 dollars

My husband and I made the tree change move from Melbourne to Alexandra in country Victoria in 2015 and in 2017 bought our lovely property. The 4 acre property included a mud brick barn that previous owners used as a work shed however we had other ideas. Over the course of the year we have transformed it into a fabulous, on bedroom barn conversion taking full advantage of my husband's building and my interior decorating backgrounds. We are now so thrilled to be able to offer the Muddy as luxury, couple's inspired accommodation. Although our home is also on this property, you can expect full privacy but we are always happy to help out whenever required. We also share the property with our two sheep Binky Boo and Breust, kangaroo's, the odd wombat and gazillions of beautiful birds.

Alexandra is a beautiful small country town with an abundance of activities at it's doorstep. The Great Victorian Rail Trail runs into Alex and takes you through Yea to Tallarook to the left and Mansfield to the right. The Cathedral Ranges are 20 mins away offering world class bush walking and rock climbing, and the many local rivers - including the Goulburn, Acheron and Rubicon - surround this property. Alex boasts fabulous cafes, restaurants and pubs, and is just 20 mins to Lake Eildon and 30 mins to Lake Mountain and Marysville. Mount Buller is 90 mins away and your journey to the Muddy from Melbourne will take you right through the beautiful Yarra Valley.
