Our delightful cottages are set amongst beautiful gardens with heritage listed trees, abundant native bird and wildlife and a kaleidoscope of colours on the rock strewn hills and valley beyond. Relax on your private deck and enjoy watching the sun rise over the distant hills. If the weather turns cool, head inside and snuggle up by the wood fire in your comfy robes and enjoy a glass of local wine and a cheese platter or our complimentary port and chocolates. Our open plan cottages boast high vaulted ceilings and cathedral windows. They are decorated with big comfy leather lounges, a queen bed with lots of pillows and views from every window onto the garden to give you space and privacy. All your towels and linen are supplied. Tea leaves, and freshly ground coffee as well as a coffee machine is all included. The cottages have kitchenettes and a barbecue on the deck so you can look after yourselves, or you can make your way to our onsite restaurant for a delicious cooked breakfast or coffee made by our barista. As we only have two cottages, one being Pet friendly, please double check you have booked the correct cottage if you are bringing you fury friend with you.
Melissa and Aaron King are pleased to welcome you to the Trawool Cottages, we love that we are able to share our little piece of heaven in the Victorian countryside with others. We are committed to continue to improve our property, accommodations and service to make your stay special. We are constantly trying to improve our services and welcome feedback. A little about ourselves, We have our own family catering business, Blue Ribbon Catering. It has always been a passion for us to run an accommodation venue. We have over 20 years’ experience in a diverse range of Catering, Restaurants, Clubs, Functions and many more. Aaron was an Executive chef in various venues and Melissa has front of house experience in a number of venues and off course function centers. We are delighted that we can incorporate our hospitality background into our new adventure. We are in the process of beautifying the property, so you may see us around the property trying to make your stay one to remember by landscaping the gardens, maintaining the property area or just cleaning up here or there, if you need something please let us know.
The beauty of Trawool can be found in the paintings done by Drysdale and other well known artists, however history is not what attracted us, as the natural beauty of the valley and the Goulburn river continues to give a breath of fresh air. Running next to the river is the Great Victorian rail trail, which starts from Tallarook through to Mansfield, ideal for horses, bikes and hiking. We have also found that the Goulburn is ideal for canoeing and fishing or just to watch and enjoy with a glass of wine. Seymour only ten minutes away has a rich military history with the latest memorial to the Vietnam vets only being completed a couple of years ago. Continuing with the military theme, Puckapunyal army base houses the largest tank museum in the southern hemisphere and combined with a number of historical sites, makes it a must visit for military buffs. All these things aside Trawool is great geographical center point of Victoria, giving you the option to travel country roads and get where you want to go quickly, whether it be wineries, points of interest or stunning scenery. With regular train services to Melbourne, a day in the city is easy.
