The cottage is fully self-contained. The covered communal area also contains a bush kitchen, lounging area in front of the open fire-place and a BBQ. There is also a wood-fired pizza oven, which attracts a fee to use. As an option, we can stock provisions in your room for you to cook the equivalent of a full English breakfast at your leisure. We also offer significant discounts if you wish to stay longer periods. Turmeric Gardens is an eco-friendly property. Our house and cottages were built mainly out of recovered materials. All of our fresh water is entirely rain-harvested. Waste water is managed through grey water systems and our toilets are composting in nature. Guests are free to roam most of the 14.5 acres, the majority of which is natural timbered bush . Areas of steep terrain exist, as well as stony or slippery ground underfoot, so non-slip covered footwear is recommended for exploring. Views of Blackall Range and a dam and 3 ponds are quite picturesque but guests with small children please be vigilant about their safety.

Your hosts Karleen and David live on the property and will generally be available if guests have a problem or require assistance. We'll gladly assist you to fire up the pizza oven if you feel like cooking your dinner or direct you to a number of local eateries.

Turmeric Gardens is set in a secluded bush hideaway shared with local fauna and flora, yet is only a 5 minute drive to Palmwoods shops, hotel and eateries. Centrally located on the Sunshine Coast, a 15-20 minute drive will take you to ranges, waterfalls, beaches, zoos, theme parks or shopping centres. Popular local places to visit include Montville, Kondalilla Falls, Yandina Ginger Factory, Eumundi Markets, Queensland Zoo, Underwater World, Aussie World, Australia Zoo and numerous beaches, such as Mooloolaba, Alexandra Headland, Maroochydore, Coolum and Noosa. Scenic drives can be found past the Glasshouse Mountains, along the Blackall Range, following the coastal roads and throughout the hinterland and nearby national parks.
