Warder's Cottage, built in 1858, is one of Fremantle's oldest and most iconic of buildings, set in the very heart of Freo.
Reimagined and renovated in 2019 to the highest of standards whilst retaining its original character, here you will live like a local in the truest sense and is an opportunity not to be missed.
“Warder's Cottage” is one in a group of six linked cottages known as 'Warders 3'. It is one of Fremantle's oldest, most instantly recognised and iconic of buildings, set in the very heart of Freo.
Originally built in 1858 to house the Fremantle Prison Warders and their families, 165 years later the cottages were taken over by the WA Heritage Council and restored back to their original condition, all except for a few modern improvements such as electricity and plumbing.
Each cottage has since been sold to private owners who have added their own panache. None so much as this one which has had no expense spared in parts and in other parts reflects its owners quirky style. You will not be disappointed.
