Winganah Cottage – A Peaceful Country Escape
Winganah Cottage is a self-contained retreat in the Tasmanian countryside – peaceful and private, yet close to the natural beauty and attractions of the Tasman and Forestier Peninsulas. We’re ideally located between Dunalley (4 km) and Murdunna (3 km), just 1 km from Dunalley Bay Beach and 12 km from Marion Bay Beach, once home to the Falls Festival.
To the south lies Eaglehawk Neck and Pirates Bay Lookout (12 km), with the Three Capes Walk and Doo Town nearby. Enjoy scenic walks at the Dunalley Canal or the Murdunna coastal track, and discover hidden gems like Carlisle Beach (1 km north) and Eaglehawk Neck Beach (10 mins south).
You can hire e-bikes at Marion Bay and ride along the coastline. Many great restaurants and wineries are close by: Bangor Vineyard Shed (4 km), The Lanterns Cafe, The Cannery, and Dunalley Hotel (all within 5 km). Fresh coffee awaits at Cubed Espresso near Pirates Bay. The Bream Creek Market is held on the first Sunday of every month.
At the cottage, spend your evenings around the outdoor firepit under the gum trees, toasting marshmallows under the stars. Wake to the sounds of birds, kookaburras, chickens, and sheep. Guests are welcome to feed our two friendly alpacas, Maisie and Godiva, and meet the resident sheep.
We’re a semi-retired couple living next door and happy to offer local tips – or give you complete privacy if preferred. Our property is also home to chickens, alpacas, kangaroos, possums, and wallabies.
With free parking and plenty of walks, beaches, and attractions within 10–20 minutes, Winganah Cottage is the perfect base to explore Tasmania’s wild beauty – or simply relax and unwind.

We hope you enjoy your stay at our cottage as much as we love living in this beautiful part of Tasmania.
