The Bush Cottages are forestry cottages made from natural timbers, circa 1957, transported to the property and efforts made to retain the original characteristics, but despite improvements the cottages remain rustic. Set on 88 acres(33 hectares) with adjacent 200 hectare bush reserve. This property features 17 acres of landscaped waterways (ponds/lakes). A feature being it is free of domestic livestock which has encouraged a large number of indigenous birds and animals to make this property their home. A variety of exotic and Australian trees and plants provide habitat and an attractive landscape to walk and discover. You are invited to leisurely walk the property and rest on the seats provided while contemplating life and watching the bountiful birdlife. There are nearly 60 species of birds, many mammals and reptiles, nights can be a bit noisy with some of the wildlife and some can be intrusive like goannas. The property is about bush walks, log fires in winter, wildlife, autumn leaves, landscaped waterways and wildflowers. Guests that relate to these values give good reviews. But such reviews can mislead potential guests into thinking that Woodlands is modern up market accommodation. Cottages do not have dishwashers or wifi. Guests seeking such should look elsewhere. Autumn through to spring is the preferred season for you to enjoy all of the above. For your convenience there is a shared laundry and bbq with the other cottage.
