Welcome to our cottage Akkerland located in the second smallest village in Belgium: Zandvoorde near Zonnebeke.
Our house overlooks this flat landscape with many fields.
It is an enchanting region where you can walk or cycle a lot or completely relax.
The infrared sauna is included and provides for pleasant relaxation. The Jacuzzi-swimspa can be booked as an option: price per night : 60 euro - 55 euro when booking 3 nights or more - 50 euro when booking 8 nights or more.
I love swimming, walking, cycling, relaxing with a coffee and enjoying the peace, the view and the sun.
In Akkerland you can do all this!
Zandvoorde near Zonnebeke.
The home of Jacques Brel's grandparents.
No doubt this is where Jacques found his inspiration to write his song Vlaanderen Vlakke Land. The flat land Brel refers to in the song is West Flanders, the region in Belgium where his family originally came from. It is a region with many open fields and few trees.
Le Plat Pays, however, is on a sandy 'voorde' (or hill).
Zandvoorde is a base for visiting Ypres, Golf De Palingbeek, Bellewaerde, the coast, Lille, Kortrijk, the Westhoek, Poperinge, ...
