We love to welcome you at LaComte5, a renovated farmhouse originating from the 16th century. After the renovation, it still breathes the cosiness of past times. With contemporary comfort, tasteful furnishings and modern amenities, it offers everything for a cosy weekend away, an active holiday with family or friends, or to work quietly in an inspiring environment (sleeps 6: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms). In spring and summer, the large lawn is ideal for sunbathing or enjoying a glass of wine while ducking into that novel that's been on your reading list for a while. In autumn and winter, LaComte5 is a great place to meet friends or take the kids away to enjoy quality time, take lengthy hikes or cycling tours, discover the Ardennes. Pleased to meet you. I am Astrid Savelberg. I am 56, a Burgundian from the southern part of the Netherlands. I live with my husband and our 2 British shorthair cats in Belgium, near Maastricht. A couple of years ago we were lucky to become the owners of LaComte5, near Vielsalm, in the Belgian Ardennes. LaComte5 is a charming old farmhouse with lots of character in the cosy setting of the hamlet's small community. We have furnished the house with love to keep its ancient character and added a modern touch. We would like to share our hideaway with you when we are not present. LaComte5 is located at about 5 km from the town Vielsalm. Taking the exit La Comté on the Route National, you turn back time when you enter the idyllic Ardennes hamlet in the slope of the woods. Vielsalm is beautifully situated in the Ardennes. The town offers plenty of opportunities throughout the year for a vacation or a weekend getaway. You can go walking, riding and cycling in the surrounding woods and fields. Nearby is a rich gastronomic offer with many typical restaurants and charming Ardennes cafés. In the winter there are opportunities for cross-country skiing, the Baraque de Fraiture alpine skiing, and sledding. Vielsalm is also an ideal base for day trips in the Ardennes. Worth seeing are Ardennes towns such as Durbuy, Malmedy, and cities of Maastricht, Liège and Luxembourg, and Worldwar II Battle of the Bulge sites in the area of Bastogne, St. Vith and Hürtgenwald, all of which within close distance. The bakery is in Salmchateau (3 min by car) Here you can buy fresh rolls, croissants and pastries. Shopping at supermarkets in Vielsalm (5 min) (Spar, Aldi) or the Luxembourg Huldange (Delhaize, Aldi). Recommends: here you can also fill up your car cheaply.
